JANA appointed investment advisor to leading health insurer TUH Health Fund

One of Australia’s largest investment consulting firms, JANA, has been appointed as Investment Advisor to leading Queensland-based health insurer, TUH Health Fund (TUH), to provide investment advisory services.

The news follows a steady year of growth for JANA’s investment advisory offering in 2020, including expanded advisory services and senior appointments across the insurance, retail and not-for-profit space.

JANA’s Head of Insurance Strategy, Greg Wilkinson, said, “We are delighted to embark on a partnership with TUH, which primarily serves those working in the education sector.”

JANA’s appointment, which came into effect in January 2021, follows a competitive three-way tender process, led by Mena Boles, JANA’s Director for Client Development.

Mr Wilkinson added, “We were impressed with TUH’s strong member-centric approach and respected long history, originating with a group of teachers wanting to help the education community access better health care. TUH has been committed to providing quality products and services to its members, who play such a pivotal role in Australian society, for almost half a century.”

“We look forward to supporting TUH in their journey to deliver positive social change along with working closely with the Product and Investment Committee to the betterment of their members,” Mr Wilkinson said.

“A key focus of our work with TUH will be delivering tailored asset management strategies, which JANA is industry-renowned for, alongside helping them navigate the evolving regulatory landscape currently faced by insurers.”

JANA’s total assets under advice currently sits at approximately A$650 billion. TUH marks JANA’s fifth Queensland-based client as the consultancy bolsters its presence in the state.

“JANA has been advising the insurance market since 2004, and our current insurance clients have more than $9.3bn in assets under management,” added Mr Wilkinson.
