JANA announces attendance at COP28

JANA, is pleased to announce that CEO Georgina Dudley and Head of Sustainability, Rachel Halpern, will attend the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai later this year.

The announcement was made at this year’s JANA Annual Conference, hosted in Sydney last Thursday (14 September) for the first time in its 36-year history.

“Attending COP28 presents a unique opportunity to broaden and deepen our understanding of what is at the cutting edge of processes and practices around global Net Zero goals and bring these insights back to serve our Australian clients” said Georgina Dudley, CEO at JANA.

Participating in COP28 will not only expand our professional networks but allow JANA to engage with key decision makers and gain firsthand insights into the evolving direction of the UN and government policies on the sustainability agenda.

The JANA Annual Conference is renowned for being a platform that showcases the future thinking of key industry leaders and sharing of industry insights within the investment sector and the broader economy. This year, the JANA Annual Conference focussed on expanding horizons and navigating the shifting investment landscape.

Conference highlights

Engaging keynotes: The conference featured a lineup of distinguished Australian and International keynote speakers who shared their thoughts and outlook on various topics including the challenges and benefits of investing in China, and the likelihood that central bankers and governments can orchestrate a controlled economic slowdown while reigning in inflation may be somewhat of a ‘fairytale’.

Panel discussions: Engaging panel discussions that explored key industry trends and challenges. Experts offered unique perspectives on topics such as energy transition and constructing robust portfolios that are tailored to the unique and ever-changing needs of diverse investors.

Breakout sessions: Attendees had the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions that provided valuable discussions into areas such as sustainable agriculture, leveraging technology to create a positive impact, and the role of stewardship and the critical minerals required for Australia’s Energy Transition.

The 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) will take place from November 30 to December 12, 2023, at Expo City Dubai. This will be the first time JANA will be in attendance.
